The exact scope
The quote should say what is being installed, upgraded, reinforced, replaced, or sealed. Vague language creates risk.
The exact location
For openings, the quote should identify which windows, doors, garage doors, skylights, or other openings are included.
Product details
For impact-rated products, the quote should include enough detail to verify what is being installed.
Permit responsibility
The quote should say who handles permits and inspections.
Contractor identity
The contractor's legal business name and license information should be easy to find.
Payment terms
Deposits, progress payments, financing, and final payment should be understandable.
Closeout documents
